Dr. Nancy J. McGinley
Dr. Nancy J. McGinley, founder and managing partner of School Search K12, has made student achievement, school choice expansion, and family and corporate school guidance her lifelong devotion. Following a successful career in educational leadership in Pennsylvania, McGinley was the longest-serving superintendent in history of the Charleston County School District (CCSD). As such, she significantly improved academic achievement, increased parent and community satisfaction, and greatly expanded school choice in the Charleston, South Carolina region. Dr. McGinley earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in educational leadership from Temple University, and a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Lee Cox
Dr. Lee Cox is a graduate of Wake Forest University and holds master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of South Carolina. He was a member of the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics founding team, and served as the school’s first president. An experienced educational leader, Cox also ran a variety of independent and private schools in South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas.
Kaitlyn Sphon is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She serves School Search K12 as our Student Services Coordinator.
Kaitlyn graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 with a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology. She received her MA in 2013 and added an Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology in 2015. Both graduate degrees are from Rowan University. For the past two years, Kaitlyn has worked as a full time elementary school psychologist in Virginia’s public schools.
Kaitlyn helps us assess the capacity of schools to meet unique student needs.
Bonnie Blasy serves School Search K12 as our Classroom Compatibility Advisor. During more than three decades as an exemplary classroom teacher in pre-k, elementary and middle school she developed her observational tool-kit on student:teacher compatibility. Her insights prove valuable to parents and caregivers as they search out the best instructional setting for their child.
Bonnie graduated with a B.A. degree in elementary education from Holy Family College in 1977 and added her M.S. from Gratz College eight years later. In between degrees she became the proud parent of four children, three boys and one girl, all of whom are college graduates with thriving professional careers.

Emily Kelly is a consultant to School Search K12, specializing in digital marketing and media outreach. Emily received her Bachelors in Marketing from Loyola University in Baltimore, MD in 2015. She completed a Digital Marketing Internship with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and holds a full time position in AOL's New York City office on the Revenue & Operations team.
School Search K12 is fortunate and proud to work with a locally practicing attorney who has a life-long commitment to quality education. As Chairperson of the Charleston County School District Board of Trustees Toya was known as an advocate for children. She stood out among her colleagues due to her genuine commitment to quality instruction for all students.
Today, she continues her active involvement as the parent of one elementary and one high school student. Both attend schools in the greater Charleston region. Toya speaks fondly of her involvement in local education:
My experiences as a lawyer and as a former School Board Chair make me the whole professional that I am today. I am forever tied to the schools in the Charleston area with pride.
